the good and the bad

so its my last day in goose.  kinda bitter sweet i guess,  not really sure if ill be coming back here and i made some friends so i will miss them.. the kitchen team really has been great,  we all got along wich is really rare i think...
im on my break now , so just have one more dinner todo then ill pack my bags to get ready for the two day trip home, over night in edmonton and home by 4 08.
what sucks though is i havnt even left camp yet and i  have already got the itenary for my next camp wich i leave on wednesday :( and i wont arive in yellowknife till 12:30 pm and will most likely fly out 630 next day to my new camp izok where i will be head chef.
hopefully ill heve alot more to write about than i did this camp

friday

today was another good day,  getting a little tired but i am sleeping good.
tonight we did chinese food. i had a huge plate , just like at buffets at home.
tommorow is streak night with coconut prawns.
well only 5 days left of this camp.  im looking forward to getting home.

new rotation

so i have been getting emails from the office the last few days telling me about possible next rotations and then they would write again and change there mind.  but today i got another email stating that i will be leaving here on the 28th going home then flying out again on the 4th to be in camp on the 5th. i will be going to a camp called izok, which is north of here.  just under cambridge bay.  i will be going there for two weeks  as head chef then off to another place called seabridge, which i think is ion north west terratories north of yellow knife andfor two weeks as head chef again.
im super excited , especially about the first one( izok) as one of my friends from the last tiome i was here will be there as well.
unfortunatly i had planned a special dinner at home for one of the weekends but looks like i will have to postr pone.  i really dont have a choice.
anyway ill keep ya posted when i know more.

hey these are pictures i took last time when i was flying out of goose. thousands of lakes, non stop all the way into camp. plus pictures of yellow knife.

dinner

so today for lunch we had fish and chips, spinach and bacon quiche, seafood chowder and cream of cheddar cauliflower soup.
for dinner i dry rubbed some pork tenderloin and slow smoked them on the bbq for 4 hours  they were awesome  , also we had roasted garlic and black stuffed chicken breasts , roasted baby red potatoes, broccoli, baby carrots, rice.
it was a good food day got lots of compliments, had a lot of fun withe the other cooks.  good day to be in camp.
it was rainy today, so most of the ice on the lake is dissapearing,  good night to sit in bed and watch movies. i got my honey chamimile tea, some choclate bars and bags of chips,   i like camp land of plenty, i like thatr there is endless snacks.
so i have already worked 6 days so almost a week gone and ill be oput of here by next thursday.

 these little guys are called sicksick  , no idea on the spelling , sorry but there lite a prarie dog,  not scared at all. i could of stepped on this one lol. there cute,

 so here is a far a way pick of the fox, that is molting they are still kinda cute. i guess earlier today, people saw a fox with a sicksick in its mouth.

ugly foxes

so the white foxes are loosing their winter coats and look preety funny  , sort of like a sheard off poodle but brown and white, ill try to take a picture. I bbq some artic char they brought in tonight for dinner and it was beautiful but the bugs are starting to come out, and they are big.  mostly mosquitos.
i am having a good time this trip,  i think the weather helps and the crew is good, work is easy and fun.
so i think im gonna go get myself a camomille tea and a cookie,  have a good night.

a great day to be in camp

sitting down on the the lake today for my break, so beautiful , there were also sighting of a wolf in camp, and i saw something  moving in the distace , what ever it was it was big, either a wolf or a grizzly. who knows. today was a great day.

day two

i got to go in a helicoter again.  this time i was asked if i wanted to go see one of the drills. they wanted me to go basically so if something goes wrong i know what to exspect at a drill site.  it was pretty cool, im glad i work in the kitchen and not out there in one of those shacks.
but the helicopter ride was awesome, he even flew us around camp and other drill sites.

day 1

So made it threw the first day.
have to say the flight in was pretty awsome.  most of all the snow has melted and the sun was out,  so could see for miles,   very cool watching how the trees get smaller and smaller and the land gets more barren the more north we fly, by the time we enter camp there are no trees  mostly rocks and shrubs.
but all the way there are milions of lakes, big small.
the runway was small little gravol thing not even the length of a football field , amazing that they can stop in time. the airstrip is less than a kiloter away but they transport us by helicopter.  really neat flying in one of those. first time.
i will add some pictures tomorrow. 
as for work its pretty much the same, but it was nice seing some familier faces and friends i have made from last time. i think this will be a good trip plus im only here for two weeks.
im tired so im gonna go to bed early.

camp #2

Hello followers.
Here we go again, back to goose.
Currently sitting at the moncton airport, waiting for my plane to come to the gate. fly to toronto two hour wait then to edmonton , hour wait then off to yellow knife.
i have to say im kinda excited to go back , to see what has changed weather wise etc and to see some familier faces  and also it helps this is only a two week trip then home again.
i will post more later, for now happy travels.
